Snow.
It is snowing in London and for some reason I keep bursting into tears. Somehow it has a sound, a sweet sound, a hush from a mother’s breath. The eucalyptus and bamboo are bending in the garden, and the streets are dotted with the lovely he went this way, she went that way of hundreds of footprints. In the distance I can hear the telltale laughs and screams of a snowball war. The pups sleep...

Cove Street
When I was born my parents lived in a little shack of a house near the A&P (Now Harry’s Supermarket) on Elm Street in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. It was called Cove Street, yeah, Cove Street… got a problem with it!?! The “house” was built mostly out of pallet wood from the nearby General Electric plant and was sided in lovely grey asphalt shingle and black tar paper. ...

A New Year...
The following is a message I received last night from my father. He begins every message the same way… “This is your father…” it has become quite an endearing quality. I like being reminded that he has these precious little gifts to give… these little stories, glimpses of a world that has shaped him and then me.  Nathan,  This your Father and Mother calling you to...

Have you ever just wanted to be able to pull up anchor and sail away, with the tides a-risin’, this might just be the way to go… besides I love a good sea shanty.

"I am perfectly myself"
TAURUS (April 20-May 20): Your teeth aren’t white enough. Your laugh sounds weird. Something’s amiss with the way you solve problems; I’m not sure what, I just know you’ve got a disability there. And as for your hair: Could you please change it so it doesn’t make you appear so out of touch with reality? OK, now relax. Everything I just said was a bad joke — it...

Cut-up for Laz...
A very good friend of mine sent this poem to eight people. He asked us to fill in every third line with simple sentences, whatever we feel… It was such a wonderful gift. More people should practice this. So here is what I wrote.  Why blame it on me? I walk down yer country roads.                            I have the berry stained fingertips as proof. I didn’t write the music. Take me...
